stainless steel and non-ferrous wire; Pancover lubricant carriers – phosphates and non-reactive coatings; Panflux flux for galvanising – developed to improve the efficiency of the galvanising process by a uniform control of the reaction between the two metals; and Panchem auxiliary products – degreasing agents, pickling inhibitors, anti-rusting and protective products, activated charcoal, wiping pads and spiral brushes. Pan Chemicals SpA https://panchemicals.com TBC Pave is a manufacturer and innovator of computer-controlled bending machinery for the international wire/tube and heating element forming industries. The company’s user-friendly single- and twin-head wire forming centres are used to manufacture a wide variety of products in a diverse range of industries. Advanced but intuitive software makes wire forming simple, while the use of technology for support with remote machine access and video call technology enables Pave to assist with programming complex parts or fault finding, to minimise down time. Pave was established in 1974 by Tony Perna, who saw the shortcomings of wire machines at the time. As an innovator, he began designing and building his own machines – claimed to be the first CNC wire bending machines in the world. Pave CNC Wire Forming Systems Ltd
provided the experience that would be used to develop the computer programmable wire forming machines that followed. In 1985, the design of the first computer-controlled forming machine was undertaken, and after extensive development and testing the first programmable bending machine was launched. Pave is now housed in state-of-the-art premises with its own exhibition hall, and has built and sold thousands of machines that are in use around the world. The machines are still hand-built at Pave’s headquarters in Peterborough, UK, and utilise the latest technology for remote support. The company says that many of the original machines are still in operation. Mr Perna continues to innovate 50 years later, and with his team has designed and launched the Pave MX-12, a high speed multi-head machine from coil, that joins a growing list of single- and twin-head CNC wire forming machines that can deliver speed and accuracy to wire bending solutions. Pave CNC Wire Forming Systems Ltd http://pave-wire.com Pentre Group 09 E25 Founded 35 years ago, Pentre supplies reel and drum products, with factories at two sites in the UK and the Czech Republic. Through experienced repre sentatives it sells to 33 countries. Recognising the commercial pressures faced by businesses today, Pentre positions itself as a dependable business partner with a focus on customers’ immediate needs. The company says it has a reputation for timely delivery and product improvement. For more than four years, Pentre has pursued a policy of continued investment in modern machinery and product design, to help improve its carbon footprint by developing, for example, drums using less steel.

Pan creates lubricants, coatings and chemicals for the wire industry
The company’s research and develop ment department explores new prod ucts and concepts, to offer its customers improved performance and efficiency, while also keeping a focus on environ mental sustainability. Pan Chemicals has recently added to its portfolio new products such as ash less lubricants for high quality surface after annealing; polymer-based pre coating for cold forming applications; polymer pre-coat lubricants for heavy duty bar drawing; nanotechnology based protective coating for galvanised wires; and pre-coating for high-tensile galvanised steel wire drawing. It has also introduced special nano dispersion water-based lubricants for fine and extra-fine drawing of high tensile wires; new-concept drawing technologies based on special diamond dies; and a new design of high performance compact pressure dies. The company’s production programme includes Panlube S dry drawing lubricants – calcium, sodium, aluminium, zinc, lithium and combined products for low and high carbon steel and stainless steel; Panlube L wet drawing lubricants – oils, greases and pastes for wet drawing of low and high carbon, welding wire,
An early Pave machine
For the first time, manufacturers could use a machine for multiple projects, satisfying orders to manufacture wire formed products ranging from 1.6 to 25mm diameter in mild steel, stainless steel, galvanised steel and hardened spring steel. An early beneficiary of this new approach was the heating element industry, where the forming of tubular heating element shapes involved a great deal of manual labour. The initial automated techniques were actuated and controlled pneumatically, and
