Efficient application of production fluids inside cylindrical parts
EFD Inc, a subsidiary of Nordson Corp, has launched its new radial spinner system. This system enables manufacturers to apply consistent amounts of adhesives, lubricants and other production fluids inside cylindrical parts between 0.4" and 5" in diameter. The ability to apply fluids in neat, uniform bands makes the radial spinner system suitable for processes where controlled amounts must be applied inside small cylinders or confined to specific locations. Applications range from securing engine components to lubricating medical devices.

The radial spinner system combines a compact air-driven motor, low-maintenance EFD dispense valve and EFD ValveMate™ controller. The valve dispenses a precisely metered amount of fluid onto a spinning disk attached to the motor. As fluid reaches the

Side roll stand for ‘panel style’ rollformers
The latest generation of the Ardcor side roll stand from Roll-Kraft, USA, is specifically designed for ‘panel style’ rollforming machines. The side roll stand requires no adjustment when making a width change, and reduces changeover time compared to previous versions. The design incorporates two separate bases: one mounting to the inboard panel, and the other mounting to the outboard panel of the mill, while sharing common vertical and horizontal adjustment screws. The operator simply opens or closes the panels of the rollformer, and the side stand maintains the proper position. In addition to solving the problem of manually adjusting the outboard side roll when making a width change, the side roll stand can be independently adjusted, using the fine-tuning feature for non-symmetrical profiles. Digital readouts display both the horizontal and vertical locations of the side rolls to enable fast and repeatable setups. The stand is designed for near drop-in replacement, and will fit within most F-10 panel mill applications, although some models of F-10 outboard castings may require a small amount of machining. The stand can also be modified for use with other OEM brands of panel-type machines. Other features include lateral adjustability (one common screw adjusts the horizontal position of both side rolls, relative to the centreline of the mill), and height adjustability (one common screw adjusts the vertical position of both side rolls). If the application requires individual lateral location of the rolls (ie for a non-symmetrical profile), fine- tuning sleeves are provided, allowing each roll to be adjusted independently.
