The lubrication system matches requirements by electrolytic coating in a single bath. A solid lubricant is deposited within a matrix of components, which contributes to its lubrication properties. The company has developed Apex PVC, Flexalloy PVC elastomer, and Halguard halogen-free, low-smoke compounds for every component in the complex antenna cables required for the new infrastructure. “With the advent of 5G, the wireless antenna market is evolving away from large coaxial cables and toward composite constructions incorporating control and bre optic cables,” said David Braun, wire and cable industry manager for the vinyl division. “These new constructions meet the needs of wireless telecom carriers, who are seeking to add new spectrum bands while lowering operating costs.”

Visitors to the T Butler Engineering (TBE) stand will experience rst-hand the o cial launch of the Rapidform X Series technology. Rapidform X Series features servo-driven form tools and press stations; a high-speed decoiler; and the capability for up to 12 servo axes. With a wire diameter range of 0.5 to 6.5mm, it also features integrated secondary operations and parts collection system; 5700 series high-speed Allen Bradley automation controls; and a modular tooling solution with accurate high-speed forming of products. Strecker is a family business operating worldwide, and the primary point of contact for customer-speci c complete solutions in welding. On 120m² of exhibition space there will be 20 units for di erent applications: electric butt-welding machines for steel, copper, aluminium or brass; for solid wires or strands and conductor cables; and battery-operated welders for steel and cold welders for non-ferrous wires.

Compounds are available from Teknor Apex for 5G antenna cable applications including bu ers for high-speed data bres at the core of the cable; jackets for the multi- bre core; jackets for the bundles of 600-volt control cable surrounding the core; and sheathing for the entire construction. Mr Braun noted that the suite of compounds o ered by Teknor Apex for these applications include variations that meet di erent speci cations from each wireless carrier: “We o er speciality formulations for oil resistance, UV resistance, low- and high-temperature environments, and wet- and dry-rated insulations. Many Halguard non-halogenated, low-smoke alternatives to PVC are available, including a stress-crack-resistant compound for jacketing over corrugated metal armour.” Teknor Apex produces exible and rigid vinyl, thermoplastic elastomers, nylons, colour masterbatches, speciality chemicals and hoses. The company is headquartered in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA, and operates 13 manufacturing facilities worldwide, in the USA, Belgium, Germany, China and Singapore.

Also on display will be the new V30 Smart control, the latest development of its predecessor, the V20. Visitors will be able to attend welding demonstrations on the stand, and training will be available for welding small strand cross-sections (type SE 1).
