high-speed grease within the bearings. The custom high-speed bearings and labyrinth seal were speci cally developed to resist centrifugal forces of a dead block while processing wire at speeds up to 40m/second. Sjogren’s grooved rolls are easily inter- changeable and can be rebuilt and re-greased. Varying roll designs are available with either vee groove or radius groove pro les. The SH #5 and SH #6 are Sjogren’s two new additions to its Thumb Release line of puller grips. They are designed to improve e ciency, productivity and safety on the factory oor, and are fully compatible with Sleeper-Hartley style

puller assemblies common across the industry. The thumb release mechanism opens both jaws simultaneously to allow one-handed operation, simplifying wire insertion. The SH #5 TR is compatible with wire diameters from 7.9 to 19mm and a maximum pull force of 5,600 kg. The SH #6 TR is compatible with 15.8 to 25.4mm diameters and a 13,068 kg maximum pull force. Sjogren Industries, Inc www.sjogren.com Spoolex will present its Calemard brand for web goods processing and handling equipment. Calemard is the converting machinery division of Spoolex, with a focus on highly technical cutting and winding applications. While Calemard is known for its slitting and rewinding/spooling technology, its R&D department has also developed automated solutions to provide complete cells, from handling to packing. The company’s slitter-rewinders and spooling lines are engineered to respond to four main targets: modularity, exibility, versatility and quality. The range of equipment includes versatile and modular equipment that can be fully customised to the product (stable or sensitive), production environment and required quality. The machines are able to handle and convert di erent products, such as non-wovens, PTFE, mica, Kapton and Alu/ PET, in quality nished bobbins or spools. Each consists of three modules, for unwinding, slitting and rewinding. This modular concept allows the machines to be customised to speci c customer needs. Equipment is proposed either with integrated or separate unwinders with
