Safety partnership

New plant ahead of schedule

LS Cable & System has agreed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a technical partnership with Korea Electrical Safety Corporation in offshore wind power projects. The two companies will cooperate to standardize the pre-operation inspection of offshore wind farms and to secure safety standards for submarine cables. Kim Hyeong-won, executive director of the LS C&S energy business division, said: “According to the Green New Deal policy, offshore wind power generation is expected to be invigorated, but Korea does not yet have any rules on the use and safety of submarine cables. Relevant regulations for a reliable supply of power need to be rapidly established.” Kim Hyeong-won, head of the energy business division of LS Cable & System (right), and Kim Kwon-joong, techni- cal director of Korea Electrical Safety Corporation (left)
