Cable producer changes hands
Renewable partnership
Enlight Renewable Energy, of Israel, has acquired a 61% stake in a 372MW wind project in Sweden and is also taking a 20% interest in the Prime Green Energy Infrastructure Fund (PGEIF). Enlight and PGEIF together bought the Bjornberget wind project in central Sweden from developer RES. The Israeli renewables company’s stake in the project is 61%, but it may be reduced to 55% if new investors join the fund. The new owners will spend around $513.7 million to develop the wind farm, with construction starting immediately. Enlight and PGEIF have also agreed to operate as strategic development partners to pursue other renewable energy projects in the Nordic region. As its newest investor, Enlight is putting $59 million into the fund. The Bjornberget wind farm is scheduled to go into operation in early 2023, generating an annual 1.1TWh.
