wire 2018 in Dusseldorf, Germany, is now just a matter of days away and American presence at the exhibition rightly reflects the booming health of the industry across the Atlantic. Our coverage starting on page 32 is dedicated to the week-long show, with some of the American companies listed over the 40-page section. Attention then rapidly turns to Wire Expo in Nashville, Tennessee, hosted by the Wire Association International. Turn to page 72 for the latest from some of the exhibitors. Also in this issue is news that Nucor Corporation is investing some $240m in building a rebar micro mill in Frostproof, Florida. The new mill is expected to employ around 250 people and is the second rebar micro mill that Nucor is constructing, hot on the heels of its November 2017 announcement of a project in Sedalia, Missouri. Turn to page 9 for the full details. Strong growth in Mexico has led to Nortech Systems signing the lease for its new facility in Monterrey. The company plans to have completed the transfer of operations by the end of the year, from its original facility just five miles away which produces wire harnesses and cable assemblies. See page 11 for the full story.
