Decisive for the success of this technology is the selection of a suitable pre-treatment of the wire surface to produce an optimal bonding force between substrate surface and coating. When comparing the graphs for the coefficients of friction, it is notable that the E-Molyphos coefficient of friction does not increase, in contrast to forming oils, but remains at a constant low value. As a further development, a plant concept for the production of two products could be implemented on a single production plant in a process called DUC (dual use concept). This innovation mainly relates to the production of copper-plated and uncoupled welding wires as part of in-line production.
