wire 2018 special and LAN cables with enhanced performance in either one or two steps, according to product mix. An expert in data and special cable manufacturing solutions, Setic will exhibit a complete 800mm pairing/quadding line with two high speed double position backtwist payoffs. Since the last wire show, Setic has successfully developed, designed, delivered and commissioned several 2,000mm double twist lines, offering high performance to its customers, compared with the same category of equipment, using the machine stand-alone or together with an additional external capstan. Illustrating this, Setic will exhibit a 1,000mm rotating pulling capstan with a pulling force of six tons for stranding 61 (Cu/Al) wires. Setic and its sister company Pourtier also provide a complete range of single twist machines from 630 to 2,500mm.

❍ Preheater 6000 from Sikora

In addition, Sikora will present its Purity Scanner, a system for online inspection and sorting of plastic pellets, and its Purity Concept systems used for offline inspection and analysis of pellets, flakes and films or tapes. Users of Sikora technology benefit from process optimisation, increased quality and cost saving. Technological highlights at the Sikora booth will include: • Wire-Temp 6000 non-contact con- ductor temperature measurement • Centerview 8000 non-contact eight- point eccentricity, four-axis diameter and eight-point ovality measurements, suitable for the production of coax cables, LAN cables as well as automotive and installation cables • Laser Series 2000/6000 high-end diameter measuring devices, with up to 5,000 measurements per second and integrated lump detection. • Lump 2000 for detection of lumps and neckdowns on the cable surface. • Spark 6000 HF high frequency, high voltage spark tester for the detection of pinholes and bare patches in cable insulation • X-Ray 8000 NXT X-ray based eccen- tricity, wall thickness, diameter and ovality measuring systems for CV-lines, VCV-lines and MDCV-lines • X-Ray 6000/X-Ray 6000 Pro X-ray based eccentricity, wall thickness, dia- meter and ovality measuring systems for jacketing lines (measurement of foaming and wall thickness of RF cables) • Purity Scanner inspection and sorting system for XLPE pellets. Dual inspec- tion: X-ray and optical for detection of metallic and organic contamination from 50µm on the surface and inside

A 1,250mm single twist will be exhibited illustrating the versatility (control, instru- mentation, data and battery cable) and flexibility (for laying-up, stranding and wire armouring process) of these solutions. ❍ A backtwist pairing line from Setic
