Established in France in 1981, Cersa-MCI develops and manufactures measuring equipment for fine wires, cables and optical fibres. Its portfolio of solutions helps customers enhance production quality, using advanced technologies such as interferometry and diffraction to ensure high-speed measurement and accuracy. The sensors are used on- and off-line for non-contact measurement applications. At wire India, Cersa-MCI will show new measuring instruments, and specifically its range of surface analysis equipment. Several demonstrations are planned, including the LDS device and its WSR wire sample rotation accessory, for off-line wire diameter and ovality measurement. Cersa-MCI has developed a special tool for laboratories to keep the wire sample straight and taut. A system of cranks and geared pulleys then allows this sample to be rotated in the LDS laser beam. Equipping this accessory provides a complete solution for measuring wires and cables over 360°. For high-speed line measurement, the SQMF (new patented technology) captures surface defects and displays their shape on screen. It can be used during production on the drawing line, or off-line by analysing wire samples in its Wire360 version. Visitors will have the opportunity to see this solution in operation. The system is now available for round products from 15 to 2,000µm. The company will also present the DLN all-in-one solution for the wire and cable sector, running at 250,000 measurements per second on three axes for a total of 750,000 accurate diameter values per second. This ultra-high-speed diameter gauge, which also offers ovality measurement and defect detection, was officially announced at wire Düsseldorf 2024, and will be launched soon. With a commitment to sustainable practices and emerging technologies, AEI Machines (Associated Engineers & Industrials) says that it is poised to “shape the future of connectivity by manufacturing machines that produce quality end product while implementing energy-efficient technologies.” The performance and durability of AEI machines are based on high standard materials, precise engineering and accurate assembly. The machines are Industry 4.0-ready and include features such as fully networked architecture, remote access and monitoring, data collection and transmission features. With more than 50 years’ history in making rigid stranding machines, AEI Machines has been selected for projects in regions across Europe, Asia, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa, with rigid stranders that satisfy various safety and conformity certifications. At wire India, the AEI Machines team will showcase new developments in the company’s stranders for production flexibility, enhanced safety, reduced downtime and minimum maintenance.

Products for continuous resistance annealing applications

The company’s products include contact tubes, glow tubes and contact bands for continuous resistance annealing applications. Continuous resistance annealing subjects contact tubes, glow tubes and contact bands to extreme mechanical and thermal stresses. Therefore, these components must meet the highest standards of durability and quality to ensure performance and longevity. Ajex & Turner’s offerings include versions in pure nickel, tubular steel with nickel coating, copper and brass, with sanded or balanced surfaces, or highly polished and optimised surfaces for reduced wear. The products are designed to minimise maintenance costs while delivering sustainable performance. Each version is optimised for various annealing machines, including systems from Heinrich, Samp, Sictra and Niehoff, among others. The contact tubes and bands are designed to enhance productivity and deliver consistent results, whether for wire drawing, cable manufacturing or similar industrial processes. The company also provides a surface reconditioning service, including regrinding, to restore worn components to like-new condition. Special coating solutions are available for tinned wire applications, upon request. Ajex & Turner Wire Technologies Pvt Ltd www.ajexturner.com
