Exhibitors at wire 2024

The latest achievements in fibre optical cable manufacturing include a high speed fibre launching system, a high speed rewinding line and a proof testing and fibre colouring line with automated reel changes. With these new solutions, emphasis was placed on reducing operating time and scrap while increasing productivity, quality, and safety for operators. To support the shift towards a more sustainable power supply, Rosendahl Nextrom offers a comprehensive set of solutions. The sustainable concept for forming, welding and jacketing flexible materials and product sizes on a single production line is suited to connecting wind farms, photovoltaic farms and offshore projects to the power grid.

Technological developments in the automotive industry, such as all-electric cars and their associated infrastructure, have led SETIC to enhance its high speed double twist bunchers, single twist take-up with back-twist payoffs and strander solutions for applications such as EV charging cables, battery cables and data cables. SETIC uses its one- or two-step solutions to respond to needs for 5G, IIoT, robotics and growth in the global LAN market. The company’s large double twist range has been expanded to 2,600mm, to produce 400/500mm Alu wires for low- and medium-voltage cables, with 61 wires compacted. The SETIC portfolio of products gives the wire and cable industry the ability to select different advanced twinning and cabling solutions for producing a wide range of cables. The resulting tailor-made solutions and new concepts meet customer requirements such as special high speed lines for battery cable, and new high-speed lines for special, control and instrumentation cables. The company aims to meet the objectives of its partners in terms of social responsibility and decarboni- sation through the development and improvement of its organisation, methods and machines. Products being showcased at wire 2024 will include a complete high-speed 630mm pairing line/quadding line composed of modern-design single bow, back-twist payoff and double twist machine for data, automotive and LAN cables, presenting SETIC’s solutions for Industry 4.0.

Rohmann develops and manufactures not only testing instruments, but also the related testing technology such as rotors, yokes, coils and sensors, so customers are supplied with customised solutions from one provider. Rohmann GmbH www.rohmann.de Rosendahl Nextrom GmbH 09 A60 Rosendahl Nextrom will showcase a portfolio of new and improved solutions for the market. Balancing quality, productivity and sustainability is an ongoing challenge for cable and wire producers. Rosendahl Nextrom studies conventional manu- facturing methods and explores possibilities for improvement. A small enhancement to a machine can have a significant impact. Rosendahl recently introduced a turnkey extrusion line for hairpin insulation that makes a safe and reliable power supply at 800V or higher possible. The robust insulation with high-performance plastic will contribute to reduced charging times and increased ranges by minimising energy losses in electric board systems. In the area of high-speed data infrastructure, the company has installed a sophisticated laboratory line for LAN cables and loose tubes at its in-house technology centre, optimised for high speed production and equipped with features for scrap reduction, quality control and automation. preform manufacturing with a combination of vapour axial deposition and outside vapour deposition technologies tailored to producing large-sized preforms. The telecom fibre drawing process has also been optimised to reach speeds of up to 3,500m/min. Nextrom is innovating

Hairpin extrusion with a newly developed flat crosshead

In segment, the use of recyclable polypropylene based compounds removes the need for energy-intensive crosslinking. This new manufacturing concept creates a compact and sustainable alternative to conventional XLPE solutions without compromising electrical properties. ESG-compliant measurement of CO 2 and energy consumption has been added to Rosendahl Nextrom’s portfolio, ready to support the green transition in the industry. In the field of telecom fibre drawing, a helium recovery system recovers up to 90 per cent of the used helium, reducing dependence on this limited resource. the medium-voltage
