Exhibitors at wire 2024

M+E’s production range consists of payoffs from stationary spools or carriers; rotating payoff turntables for spools or carriers; horizontal or vertical spool payoff frames (option: double accumulation capstan); rotating capstan take-up frames for carriers (option: spiral laying, wire skin-pass, dual size capstan); and stationary capstan take-up frames for carriers (option: pattern laying, accumulation device, dual size capstan). It also produces horizontal or vertical spool take-up frames (option: double accumulation capstan); payoffs and take-ups for bead wire and steel cord; automatic or semi-automatic coil compacting and strapping lines; and wet drawing machines (for ultra-fine wire, saw wire, steel cord, spring wire, rope wire, staple and clips wire), complete with traditional horizontal or vertical spoolers or the newly developed series of fully automatic spoolers with no operator intervention. M+E’s daughter company’s production range consists of ultrasonic cleaning, electrolytic cleaning, HCl fumeless pickling and H 2 SO 4 electrolytic pickling, electro-plating lines, bronzing and copper coating lines, batch and in-line phosphating lines, batch and in-line coating, polymer coating, and scrubbers for fume neutralisation. M+E Macchine+Engineering Srl www.meitaly.it Madem SA 11 H25 Madem Reels Group, with headquarters in Brazil, manufactures nailed wooden reels. The group has forests, sawmill and manufacturing plants in Brazil, Spain, Bahrain, the USA, Mexico and Colombia, and produces more than 500 containers/ trucks of knock-down reels per month. Madem SA www.mademreels.com Magnetic Analysis Corp 7A F19 Magnetic Analysis Corp (MAC) will be featuring the Minimac® II at its stand at the Düsseldorf wire and Tube 2024 show. Wet drawing machines with integrated spooler

The Minimac II is the latest addition to MAC’s range of eddy current test instruments for detecting surface and sub-surface defects such as laps, slivers and cracks in non-ferrous and ferrous wire and rod. It features an embedded processor host computer and can be supplied with one or two test channels. Its versatility allows it to be used in a wide range of applications in wire and rod mills during production. Typical applications for the Minimac II eddy current tester include testing continuous cast small diameter copper rod – just before the coiler but after the rod is produced and drawn down to smaller diameters. The tester can assess grade using MAC’s grading software to automatically categorise the quality level of individual segments and entire coils of wire and rod during production. The user can customise the defect types, each based on a specific threshold gate; specify the maximum number of defects for each grade level; and configure categorised reports. Based on the report, the producer can draw down higher graded wire to even smaller diameters. Lower grades are not drawn down as much to avoid problems with breakage in the wire, which could end up causing downtime to re-thread the drawing machine.

No Twist Coiler

the No Twist Coiler as a demonstration of its commitment to innovation. There will be live demonstrations daily at 9:45am, 10:45am, 1:45pm and 3:45pm (except on Friday, when the last demonstration will be at 2:45pm). Lämneå Bruk will also focus on its fully automatic lines. From rewinding lines to coilers and spoolers, they are designed to further automate and streamline processes for modern wire production. Positioning itself as a one-stop wire machinery supplier, the company provides single machines, entire lines, or even complete factories, and tailors solutions to meet diverse demands. It caters to a range of wire types, including welding, low- to high-carbon, stainless steel and spring wire. With specialised industry knowledge, the company designs, develops and builds all parts and components for its machines in-house, ensuring they are customised to each customer’s specific requirements. Lämneå Bruk AB www.lamnea.se M+E Macchine+Engineering Srl 10 H55 With headquarters in Dervio, on Lake Como, around 40 miles north of Milan, Italy, M+E specialises in the design and manufacture of payoffs and take-ups for steel and stainless steel wires in coils or on spools for annealing, patenting, galvanising, oil tempering and other in line processes. It also manufactures wet drawing machines for steel and stainless steel wire, complete with horizontal or vertical axis spoolers.

Minimac II eddy current instrument for inspecting wire and cable for surface and subsurface defects

A magnetic inclusion detector (MID), operating in combination with the flaw detectors, can detect magnetic inclusions, often introduced by steel wire brushes during processing. In another application, a Minimac II can be installed in a wire mill to inspect zirconium, copper and beryllium copper alloys, to detect defects including surface flaws in plating and sub-surface anomalies in bonding, and inclusions in multiple layers in wire ranging from 0.838 to 6.35mm diameter (0.033" to 0.25"). A noise-cancelling test coil and bushings provide improved performance by minimising noise from mechanical vibration in the wire which otherwise might interfere with the test.
