Mould Expert Fibre’s core aim is to alarm operators to the possibility of a caster-mould breakout at the earliest possible stage. Outokumpu recently placed an order with Primetals Technologies for two new moulds and two new Mould Expert Fibre systems. The equipment will be supplied to Outokumpu’s two single-strand slab casters at its site in Tornio, Finland. Start up is scheduled for April 2023.
