Expanded range of workshop saws THE KASTOmicut range of pivot-bow, metal-cutting bandsaws from German manufacturer Kasto has been extended upwards and downwards from the three existing automatic and manually operated models, designated 2.6, for cutting 260mm diameter round stock and 310 x 260mm flat material.

The new KASTOmicut E 4.6 has the capacity to cut 335mm diameter round and 460 x 335mm flat material, and is designed for single-sided mitring at continuously adjustable angles from 0° to +60°. Downfeed is hydraulically controlled and cutting speed can be continuously adjusted between 20 and 110m/min. The KASTOmicut U 4.6 can saw flat material up to 520mm wide and cut mitres from -45° to +60°, as can the smaller pivot-bow models. Band speed range is even wider – from 12 to 150m/ min – for processing an extensive range of materials. A heavy, torsionally rigid, welded saw frame provides stable support for the blade and allows high band tension, ensuring a good quality cut even with

hard-to-machine materials. Various accessories are available including a rotary table to support the material. For users who mainly saw smaller workpieces up to 180mm diameter, Kasto has introduced the compact KASTOmicut P 1.8, which is capable of mitring between 0° and +45°. Downfeed rate is determined by manually guiding the saw frame, and the blade is driven The new KASTOmicut E 4.6 pivot-bow bandsaw

by a 1.5 kW three-phase motor, ensuring high quality cutting. The shortest cut length is 6mm. Kasto Maschinenbau GmbH & Co KG – Germany Website: www.kasto.com The compact KASTOmicut P 1.8 for smaller workpieces
