Pipe lasers for utility construction TRIMBLE has introduced the Spectra Precision ® DG613 and DG813 pipe lasers, a new generation of Dialgrade ® lasers for the installation of gravity flow pipelines. manholes with precast inverts and a tight radius. Both models have a grade range from -12 to +40 per cent and are fully self-levelling over the entire grade range. The cross axis is also fully compensated, providing quick set up and ensuring the laser will be level without having to manually rotate it in the invert. The new RC803 remote control provides full function control and utilises infrared communications when in the pipe at a distance of up to 150m (500ft). For ‘over- the-top’ setups, the remote uses radio communications at a distance of up to 130m (430ft). Flexible power options for the pipe lasers provide 40 hours of operation with NiMH rechargeable batteries and 50 hours with alkaline batteries. Alkaline batteries can be used directly in the laser without a separate battery pack. To recharge the NiMH batteries, a vehicle outlet 12V charger is available. A large LCD allows users to easily view the display when the laser is in a manhole. All functions are controlled via a graphical, user-friendly menu. The same user interface is on the RC803 remote control.
