Tube Max Orbital KANEFUSA’s Tube Max Orbital is a new carbide sawblade for the orbital sawing of steel pipes. Usually the rim velocity is set between 200-300m/min for flying cut-off machines. However, many customers require higher speeds of more than 400m/min for productivity reasons. Due to less secure pipe clamping and coolant requirements, sawing conditions are severe for a flying cut-off machine. Under these sawing conditions Kanefusa Tube Max Orbital has been performing consistently in factories around the world. The three main features of Tube Max Orbital are: tooth edge wear of conventional sawblade takes place faster during high- speed sawing and blade life becomes dramatically shorter. With the new coating, higher wear resistance can be achieved under high-speed rim velocity of more than 400m/min; a new gullet shape is applied for higher wear resistance. Together with the new coating this prevents edge wear under high- speed sawing conditions; and for flying cut-off machine with high-speed parameter, a choice of edge materials which can sustain not only edge wear but also heat crack and chipping becomes an important factor. Tube Max Orbital provides stable cutting quality by adopting the most appropriate edge grade in accordance with the customer’s requirements. By adopting these new technologies Kanefusa Tube Max Orbital benefits from greater heat and edge wear resistance. In addition, these characteristics have made Tube Max Orbital a unique product that can achieve a longer lifetime under high-speed sawing conditions and for high tensile pipes such as material X80.
