Electric tube bending machine with 165mm three-stack capability

and there are no potential hydraulic leaks. Maintenance is mi- nimised by the use of an automatic lubrica- tion system controlled by the CNC control, with signals for re- quired lube tank refill and implemented self- diagnostics.

THE latest model in the all-electric series from Lang Tube Tec GmbH is the automatic tube bending machine 160CNC-EMR. This multi-stack and multi-radius bending machine for maximum tube OD 165mm (6.5”) is claimed to be the only machine with bending capability of three stacks of 160mm with 1D bending capability in stainless steel. The bender has 13 CNC controlled axes including interpolation for cycle time improvements and specific bending cycles. The machine is suitable for bending of parts for exhaust pipes for buses, trucks or frame parts for hydroforming applications. For higher flexibility it is equipped with a separate bend die return feature, allowing return of bend die separately from the bend arm, for increased flexibility. For complicated part shapes, a heavy-duty transport boost system works with the heavy-duty rack and pinion system to apply a boost force of 80kN or more, which allows minimised clamp length and tight radius bending. In order to speed up tool changes, Lang Quick Tool features swing away tie rods and slide in clamp die and pressure dies. As an option, the machine can be provided with an automatic tool changer, allowing the change of pre-set tool arrangements. The CNC control installed on the machine – Bend Motion Control – has been upgraded with new features to make operation of the machine more user-friendly, with simultaneous improvement of quality and productivity. It includes Bend Motion Auto-Set-Up for automatic set-up of new parts to be bent, making set-up work independent from operator skills. The cycle time optimisation feature Bend Motion Optimize calculates the optimum movement strokes and simultaneous axis movements of all 13 axes on the machine which, depending on the part shape, can save up to 20 per cent or more of cycle time. Bend Motion Remote allows remote control of the machine. The machine saves around 65 per cent of energy compared to a hydraulic machine of the same size.
