Pipeline assessment software for UT devices CREAFORM develops, manufactures and sells 3D portable measurement technologies, and specialises in 3D engineering services. The company has released Pipecheck 3.2, which brings together NDT and NDE system capabilities, such as 3D scan data and ultrasonic testing (UT), into its intuitive and powerful pipeline integrity assessment software platform. “Pipecheck is the safest and fastest solution for pipeline integrity assess- ment on the market,” said Jérôme- Alexandre Lavoie, product manager. “By opening Pipecheck to other assessment solutions, NDT service companies and pipeline engineers can get more secure and traceable analyses from which they can extract more data to ensure the safest assessment there is. Compliant with the ASME B31G and B31.8 industry standards, Pipecheck enables the identification of potential issues on both the inner and outer linings of pipes, including corrosion, dents or gouges in the metal. Pipecheck now introduces true wall thickness assessment analysis based on the combination of various integrity assessment technologies. The idea behind Pipecheck 3.2 is to combine the strengths of the best NDT equipment into a single software to get the most accurate and realistic damage evaluation of the pipeline – both inside and outside. Other enhancements in this new

release include the ability to edit a scan in real time, improving workflows by saving time during data reconstruction for increased field efficiency. Section tools can be used to easily clean artefacts that do not need to be analysed, such as a flanges, welds and valves, etc. Several improvements were also made to increase the precision and reliability of the inspection results. Combined with the benefits of Creaform’s metrology-grade 3D scan- ners, the software contributes to reducing potential human errors and providing reliability that is beyond current regulatory requirements.
