For tube mills the main benefits of NOV Tuboscope’s TruFlux™ inspection systems are enhanced process reliability combined with reduced space requirements, as well as considerable time savings. The TruFlux™ system allows a simultaneous inspection for both transversal and longitudinal orientated irregularities in OD and ID surfaces, combined in only one system (no separate shooting rod required). This feature with regards to pipe end and coupling quality testing means that inspection takes place in active fields with a DC current as magnetising current (no skin effect).

The heart of each TruFlux™ system is the multidirectional magnetiser. Depending on the level of automation, it can be used as a combined system to alternatingly apply longitudinal and transversal magnetic fields. If required, the magnetiser can also be operated separately in a sequential process. With a strong, adjustable magnetic field, it is also possible to penetrate thick walls to have clear indications
