The ability of tube producers to provide the automotive industry with high quality HF welded parts at competitive prices has resulted in a large increase in the use of Thermatool welded parts in automobiles. Thermatool’s solid state welders operate at selected welding frequencies between 150 kHz and 800 kHz giving producers the capability to weld quality products for a wide range of materials including: HSLA and dual phase steels, stainless steel, Aluminum and Copper. Thermatool’s new variable frequency feature allows the weld frequency to be adjusted at the operator’s console in 1 kHz increments. This feature increases the tube producers ability to weld difficult materials and D/T ratios enabling them to produce high quality tubing required for demanding automotive hydroform applications.
