Abbey International, USA, has announced a series of important company developments to keep up with the current demands for its equipment such as tube mills, entry equipment, cutoffs, drawbenches, and slitters. The company has recently expanded its engineering staff after an active year of increased sales orders and installations. A Korean installation has been completed by Abbey of an advanced 8KHH ERW mill line, used to manufacture oil, gas and automotive tube and pipe in the diameter range of 38.1mm to 219.1mm. Designed for use in the Chinese automotive industry, Abbey is currently undertaking the installation of a 68 metric ton triple draw direct pull hydraulic drawbench for the high quality and volume production of precision tube. In addition, Abbey is designing and manufacturing a high-speed mechanical tube mill with squaring capabilities
(Ø 15.8mm to 79.3mm). This mill, which incorporates Abbey’s patented CCT quick- change system for push button tooling changes, will be used to manufacture products at 182m/min. Abbey is also in the process of supplying stainless mills to produce hydroformed tubing for the automotive industry. In addition, the company is currently working on numerous large mill projects (up to 24" and 26" diameters) for the structural and API pipe markets. To reflect the product advances and order book success, the company have launched a newly redesigned website. The website includes the company’s history and products offered, together with details of installations and a calendar of upcoming trade shows.
