Scotchman Industries, USA, has celebrated 40 years of machine tool manufacturing of the Scotchman Hydraulic Ironworker line. Mr Arthur Kroetch, the founder of the company, bought the patent for the original ironworker from its inventor in 1967. This machine is claimed to have revolutionized the process of cutting, bending and punching holes in steel. It uses hydraulic pressure to cut or punch steel rather than sawing or drilling, to accomplish the same results. Scotchman Industries started with just one 35t hydraulic ironworker and has since developed a line of 11 units, ranging from 45 to 150t. This range includes the single and dual component tool ironworker (for several different tools), and fully integrated ironworkers. In 1983, Scotchman Industries incorporated circular cold saws into its product line to complement the ironworkers. In 1990, Scotchman began manufacturing the circular cold saws in its South Dakota manufacturing plant.

› There is a 40 year history behind the Scotchman Hydraulic Ironworker line

In 2002, Scotchman added an American- made band saw to its ‘metal fabricating solutions’. Band saw models include a 20" vertical contour, and swing head 10 x 16" and 14 x 19". This addition completed the Scotchman line for cutting. In November 2005, Scotchman purchased Advanced Measuring Systems located in Forney, Texas, and moved the manufacturing to Philip, South Dakota. Advanced Measuring Systems is a manual length-gauging device that can be mounted on all types of metalworking machinery. In September of 2006, Scotchman added a programmable stop and feed system. This system can be easily connected to numerous Scotchman machines and can be connected to almost any type of metal working machinery. Scotchman Industries Inc – USA Fax : +1 800 843 5545
