NDC Technologies will exhibit its complete line of intelligent, connected measurement and control solutions from the Beta LaserMike Products range at wire 2020. The line-up includes new products that advance process and quality control. Visitors will get a first-hand view of a complete end-to-end measurement system solution – from the extruder through to the puller – for producing higher quality products, increasing productivity and realising production savings. NDC Technologies’ LayScan is a solution for accurately and consistently measuring the lay length of twisted pairs at the cabler. The latest innovation – LayScan Pro – takes lay length measurement a step further, enabling cable makers to precisely monitor and control the lay length as twisted pairs are being made inside the bow of a twinning machine. LayScan Pro enables manufacturers to confidently transform lay length data into intelligence to optimise twisted-pair cable production. It maximises product quality through greater accuracy, ensures

lay length consistency from run to run, drives cost efficiencies with true lay length control and improves processes with data-driven analytics. The new LaserSpeed ® Pro M Series gauge accurately and reliably measures the length and speed of long, continuous cylindrical products that bounce and cannot be well-guided, or that move off-axis and out of the measurement range. The patent-pending gauge uses a laser Doppler velocimetry optical technique to perform measurements on bare conductor wire, insulated primary wire, metal bar/rod and metal cord, among other products. With over 25 years in service, there are more than 10,000 LaserSpeed gauges installed worldwide. NDC’s new AccuScan Pro gauge provides 100 per cent on-line inspection of multi-strand wire. The system accurately measures the diameter of multiple wires simultaneously and instantly detects any missing and broken strands. Manufacturers can monitor the process in real time for a complete view of product quality, and can benefit from material savings.

Other on display will include the AccuScan family of two- and four-axis diameter and ovality gauges, LN3000 Series lump and neckdown detector, CenterScan eccentricity gauge, UltraScan Pro ultrasonic wall and concentricity gauge, TempTrac Pro preheat temperature measurement system, BenchMike Pro off-line sample inspection system and DataPro/InControl process controllers.
