The in-line cleaning of band saw blades of various widths in compact, single-stage high-pressure cleaning systems with variably adjustable nozzles was found by the company to be an uncomplicated task, since the line speeds were moderate – a maximum of 4.5m/min. Particles and emulsions could be removed from the band saw blade surface with hot water. GEO high-pressure nozzles in a compact system provided the required surface quality for the cleaning of steel pro les at a line speed of approximately 30m/ min. Due to the limited space available in this case, the high-pressure cleaning units placed in several lines are supplied from a central tank system that includes ltration and continuous refreshment of the cleaning medium. The structure of continuous ultrasonic cleaning of precious metal strips for the production of stamped, welded and bent parts was more conventional. The system for process speeds up to 10m/min is divided into cleaning, rinsing and drying areas. In the nal drying, the compressed air is heated to support the drying e ect by convection. The scope of delivery included a unit made up of the rewinder and unwinder. The construction of a combined brush and high-pressure cleaning system for steel pro les has already been initiated. In this wet chemical cleaning system to reduce emulsion and rolling abrasion, the brushes are continuously supplied with cleaning uid. Dissolved particles are subsequently removed by an arrangement of high-pressure nozzles. The material is also preserved in this process. The system is supplemented by a matched lter system and a dosage for cleaning and preservation. The installation of three

vertically or horizontally mounted capstans – non-slip (with independently driven capstans), with the possibility of tilted or horizontal capstans, rotating and/or pressure dies, and water-cooled systems.

One of the most requested models of xed reel is the DW (Double Wall), which is suitable for drawing and stranding steel, copper and aluminium wire. This model of reel is machined on the barrel and can be balanced for high speed. DIN standard and customised dimensions are available. For take-apart reels, GMP Reels India supplies many Indian customers with the TA/Z model, which is a reel with a bronze collar, and is available with 760 or 900mm ange. This model is designed for ease of use: to open it, the operator unscrews the bronze locking ring and releases the removable ange. GMP Reels India also manufactures handling equipment for the wire and cable industry, including tilters, lifters and special devices. All products are designed by the GMP Slovakia technical team. GMP Slovakia sro www.gmp-slovakia.com Gur l has 38 years’ experience in creating materials for the global cable market, providing customers around the world with foil, lm and tape products together with machinery, on-site support and after-sales technical service. The company’s range is divided into three main groups – foil, lm and tape – with more than 100 products, including Alu/PET, Alu/Copoly, Cu/PET laminates, polyester lm (Mylar, PET lm), mica tape, PP identi cation tape, polyester non-woven tape, copper foil, breglass tape, PP foam tape, Kraft paper, crepe paper, semi-conductive tape, water-blocking tape, breglass yarn, rip cord yarn and water-blocking soft yarn. Gur l is currently o ering machines, together with commissioning, after-sales service and spare parts from its warehouse, that include vertical braiding machines (16 and 24 carrier); vertical heavy braiding machines (16 and 24 carrier); horizontal braiding machines (24, 32, 36 and 48 carrier); mica taping machines (one, two or three carrier, with pad and spool head options); winder lines; and payo s and take-ups. The company’s three newly installed spooling technology lines have allowed it to increase production capacity while meeting the necessary safety and quality requirements for the raw cable materials. The capstan diameter can vary from 300 to 1,200mm, depending on the application and diameter of wire, and certain lines can reach a mechanical line speed of 35m/sec. Most lines are also equipped with laser wire diameter control, and phonic wheels tted to the dancer arms allow integration with die wear control, with relative warnings and alarms. Payo s and take-ups can be of numerous types, for coils of di erent sizes, or for stems or reels. Gimax can also study and adapt or customise a design based on speci c customer requirements. Gimax Srl www.gimaxgroup.com GMP Reels India, located in Nashik, Maharashtra, manufactures steel reels and handling devices for the wire and cable industry. The company was started in 2013 and is part of the GMP Slovakia group. To increase production capacity, GMP Reels India moved to a larger facility, still located in Nashik. The position is strategic, being relatively close to Mumbai, which has one of the two largest ocean ports in India. The new plant has a covered industrial area of around 3,000m 2 and is equipped with traditional machinery such as lathes and welding machines, 150-ton and 300-ton presses, two straightening machines, a paint booth, and two balancing machines that can balance reels at up to 50m/sec. To ensure quality, production is supervised by the GMP Slovakia team. Steel reels are available to satisfy customers supplying products for many di erent applications. GMP Slovakia sro Stand: 10 E32
