eases the operator’s work, in both the preparation and the welding of the wires. Internal communications networks have been improved with wireless solutions that bring signal stability, ease data collecting in real time and reduce the use of slip rings, which can be a source of problems. Large capacity planetary stranders/ cablers have been developed for armouring applications. These are designed to be used in tandem with multiple types of taping machines, applying large numbers of polypropylene cords, which are then bitumen corded. A new automatic bobbin-loading system has been developed to allow the operator to weld the wires behind the system and therefore reduce the changeover time. The taping head design has undergone several improvements that provide more precise tape tension control and hold tension variations values below 2 per cent of the set points, while maintaining precise stability throughout the process. The taping machines are also equipped with high-capacity signal interexchange wireless systems that improve signal stability throughout the process and provide immediate data collection in real time. Flymca/Flyro www. ymca.com Forplas Plastics was founded in 1992 and is now one of the largest soft and rigid PVC granule producers in Turkey. It produces PVC granules with di erent speci cations for speci c customer needs, complying with REACH and RoHS regulations. In addition to its domestic market, Forplas exports to 27 countries on three continents, with sustainable and long-term relationship-based trading. In 2019, the company exported around 30 per cent of its total production. long-term investments are planned due to developments in the area of polymers. The company’s laboratory infrastructure is up to date with equipment avail- able to conduct R&D and product developments. Forplas has ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 certi cations, and ISO 17025 accreditation is planned to be nished in 2020. Nano DCDs o er a better surface nish, reduced die resistance, minimum die wear and longer life compared to tungsten carbide, and are o ered in sizes up to 100mm (3.9"). FWWD o ers a complete product line, including single crystal diamond, Poly-Di™ polycrystalline diamond and tungsten carbide wire drawing dies. Also featured are shaped polycrystalline diamond and carbide dies, extrusion tips and dies, Poly-Strand™ compacting, bunching and stranding dies, shaving dies, Di-Pro™ diamond powder and compound, and miscellaneous wear parts for the wire, cable and tube industries. A selection of yarns from Fil-Tec

The company’s technology produces a water-swellable binder with higher yield, and can run at 5,000 rpm without unwanted vibration. More metres per package means longer runs without a break and a more e cient stranding process overall. Fil-Tec o ers various swell factors, giving design engineers the exibility to choose the yarn size and swell factor that best suits the cable. Fil-Tec, Inc www. l-tec.com Flymca has developed advanced new solutions for the submarine cable markets, and has in recent years focused on new developments in data cables, medium/high voltage cables, and ROV and umbilical cables. ROV and umbilical cables are usually produced in planetary stranders/ cablers with precise tension control systems. Monitoring systems have been incorporated that not only continuously control the production parameters and quickly identify machine problems, but also bring a complete traceability of the key manufacturing data required by the end user. For the production of medium- and high-voltage conductors/cables (MV and HV), new systems have been developed in rigid stranding lines, which now allow the use of non-typical wire shapes and straight wire paths that minimise the contact points from the payo s to the forming dies. The changeover time has been reduced by optimising the operation sequence of the bobbin-loading system, which also Flymca/Flyro Stand: 10 F78
