Well known in the wire and cable industry, DEXSEN has merged with Komax, the French extruder and complete lines manufacturer based near Mulhouse, France. This new partnership will propose innovative high-tech solutions while keeping reliable technology. For almost 20 years, DEXSEN, standing for ‘Developments for Extrusion Services and Engineering’, has been providing the wire and cable market with a complete range of highly specialised products and services. For insulation and sheathing processes, covering the simplest to the most complex materials, DEXSEN supplies tailor-made ‘process centric’ solutions, from single screw extruders up to complete lines. DEXSEN extrusion lines are designed for wire and cable to provide stable and linear output, and allow the processing of a wide range of materials, such as halogen-free ame-retardant, PVC, HDPE, XLPE, chemical and physical foaming, polyamides, PEEK, uoropolymers (FEP, PFA, ETFE), etc.

This technology increases speci c output while keeping energy consumption at low levels, allowing extruders to run at high speed for a lot of materials without degradation. Helibar® technology makes extruders compact, productive and energy e cient. This new collaboration is already resulting in the ability to supply highly e cient extrusion lines for microducts where Komax Helibar® extruders combine with DEXSEN processing expertise to de ne a new standard. The combination of the best technologies from DEXSEN and Komax results in the supply of an extensive range of extruders and complete lines for insulation and jacketing, for data or energy cables, for cross-linked compounds and chemical or physical foaming processes. From ultra-low output up to the highest, from optical bre or micro-wire insulation to the biggest subsea cables, there is always a DEXSEN-Komax extrusion solution. All DEXSEN machinery is manufactured in France, with European components and to the highest quality European standards. Top priority, and the key target for both companies, is to remain as exible as possible in meeting customers’ requirements. Better dies pull more wire and cause fewer production problems, so Die Quip designed stand-alone machines for nishing dies in all sizes; for larger production runs, the company builds work cells to maintain e ciency and eliminate downtime from size changeovers.
