Kocks RSB with upgraded design
Vardhman Special Steels signs order for RSB
in the roughing and intermediate mill, significantly reducing the number of required feeders. Any desired finished dimension from the entire dimensional range can be rolled with a small number of roll sets and minimum stand changes. The setting values for motor speeds, rolls and guides, as well as gear ratios, are calculated by Kocks’s Bamicon rolling configuration program, according to the desired end product. The block will feature an advanced safety cover, presented at METEC, including upgraded casing parts. Commissioning of the RSB is scheduled for the end of 2024. The Indian steel producer Vardhman Special Steels and the rolling mill equipment supplier Friedrich Kocks signed a contract for the supply of a reducing and sizing block type RSB® 370++/4 in 5.0 design at METEC 2023 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The block will be part of Vardhman’s SBQ rolling mill in Northern India and will expand the technological possibilities in the production of special steels at this site.
