Combining take-up and payoff in one machine Lämneå Bruk offers a customisable portfolio of payoffs and take-ups, suitable for different wire types, to maximise plant efficiency. Inmodernwire production facilities, one aim is to reduce downtime and have continuous production. To reach this objective, Lämneå Bruk’s No Twist Coiler (NTC) 1200 introduces a new concept, combining take-up and payoff in a single machine. The machine can be used off-line or, more effectively, in-line with the drawing machine. The NTC 1200 acts as take-up for the drawing machine, while the inverted carrier is used as payoff in the next production step, and placed directly onto the floor. One of the major advantages is the handling of the package as undriven payoff, resulting in twist- free and straight wire. Lämneå Bruk AB www.lamnea.se

Rotary table jig welding

Versaweld® CSR NC jig welding machines from Ideal-Werk are characterised by a wide variety of application options and simple handling. Products made of wire and/or sheet metal are placed into jigs on a rotary table that is served manually. While the products are being manu- factured on one side of the table, the operator loads or unloads the other side. This allows optimal utilisation of the machine and minimises downtime. Both sides of the table canbeprogrammed independently of one another. Product changes and new set-ups are possible within a short time thanks to the intuitive form of programming and the use of corresponding templates or jigs. Ideal-Werk www.ideal-werk.com

Reel Walker for safe reel handling

Safety is a concern for all manufacturing plants, and costs for non-compliant work practice can be expensive, so operators need tools to make their jobs safer and easier. Howar Equipment’s Reel Walker™ has been developed and tested for the safe handling of reels, where the operator rolls and rotates the reels within the plant. The Reel Walker features a design that incorporates a free-rolling shaft, available in 50, 76 or 127mm diameters (2", 3" or 5"). It also features a grip enhancing arbor sleeve, self- lubricating bearings, ergonomic shaped handle, non-slip hand grip and powder-coated finish. The device is suitable for reels up to 1,250mm (49"), and reel weights up to 660kg (1,450 lb). Howar Equipment Inc www.howarequipment.com
