Tools and dies for the wire and cable industry Ajex & Turner, established in 1962, manufactures solutions such as diamond wire drawing dies and diamond tools for the fasteners, automotive and tool room industries. These dies find applications in bunching, compacting and stranding for copper and aluminium (50 to 2,000mm 2 ).

The VNT nano dies are scratch-free for low-carbon wire, CO 2 and stainless steel wires. In 2015, the company developed in-house Masterlube lubricants for copper and aluminium wire drawing. Ajex & Turner extrusion tips and dies are used in the manufacture of power cables, control cables, telcommunications, opti cal fibre, speaker cables, etc. The extru sion tips and dies are manufactured to customer specifications in hardened steel, PCD and TC insert. The company is equipped with various advanced manufacturing testing equip ment for wire drawing dies, and exports all of its products globally.

The product range includes tooling, machinery and accessories for various industries, including wire and cable. Ajex & Turner manufactures PCD, natural diamond and trapezoidal shape dies, extrusion tools, diamond tools, cross heads, spiral brushes, sector rollers, automatic polishing and grinding machines, and lubricants for the copper, aluminium and steel industries. In 2011, the company started manu- facturing VNT nano dies (vitrified nano technology) for soft and hard wires.

In a historically male-dominated industry, many IWCS stakeholders – authors, presenters, students, event attendees, sponsors and exhibitors – are women.
