Adjustable centre co-extrusion crosshead for PVC over PVC
GuillTool’s Series 725 is a co- extrusion crosshead design for tray cable applications. With all-stainless-steel con- struction, Series 725 offers machine builders and end users advantages that include the patented Guill Seal Right system of self- aligning tapered deflector and body design. Series 725 was developed by Guill in partnership with a customer, to convert a production line from a tandem line, with two heads a distance apart,
extrudate, and the inner layer is not exposed to the environment, which could allow contaminates between the layers. Additional features of the crosshead include multi- port spiral flow, easy disassembly and restart, and positive seals for leak elimination. It is adaptable to all extruder brands, with a maximum through-core of 1.75" and maximum die ID of 2". The first layer is fixed and the second is adjustable.

into a co-extrusion line with a single head applying both layers of PVC in a single operation. The efficiency and improved profit potential from such a configuration are substantial, according to Guill sources. Otherend-userbenefitsof theco-extrusion crosshead include a shorter changeover time; less scrap than with a single head set-up; and improved product quality from the increased adhesion between layers, as melt adheres to melt rather than
Other benefits are the patented Guill Feather Touch concentricity adjustment, vacuum port and the ability to accept two extruders from the same side via the heated manifold assembly. Series 725 is supplied with a tool kit and detailed operator’s instruction manual. Guill Tool & Engineering Co, Inc www.guill.com
Enhanced production capacity of aluminium alloys
Adhering to the “Make In India” initiative of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi, Isinox Alloys has invested in new Indian machinery. Tomeet increased demand fromEuropean and American companies, Isinox Alloys has extended its manufacturing capacity by setting up the India-made machines to draw aluminium alloys.
To achieve maximum tensile strength through a multi-step thermal treatment, Isinox Alloys has produced corrosion- resistant alu alloy wire in grade 5154. This grade is claimed to provide 21 to 25kg per mm square tensile strength and elongation of 10 to 14 per cent. The company also manufactures alloy wire in grades such as 5019, 5050, 5052, 5056, 5154, 5356, 5754, 6101 and 6202. Products are available in 1 to 5kg spools, with quality ensured by an automatic die shop equipped with laser, Conoptica and other die checking equipment. The main applications of the company’s wires are in flexible coaxial cable, audio and video cable, vehicle signal cable, network cable and data transmission cable. Al-Mg alloy wire 5154 can be used in cable conductors, braiding and shielding, single wire conductor and other conductors. Isinox Alloys www.isinoxalloys.in
