Crosslinkable halogen-free and flame-retardant compounds

research and development, Fainplast is a manufacturer of speciality compounds. New solutions are regularly developed to meet the requirements of specific customer projects and the new requests of an ever-changing market. For example, in accordance with growing demand for speciality materials to be used in the renewable energy market, Fainplast has developed crosslinkable halogen-free and flame retardant compounds that combine zero-halogen materials with flame retardancy properties and long material life at high temperatures or in extreme environmental conditions.

Fainplast is an Italian manufacturer of PVC, LSZH, PE and PP compounds for use in the production of cables, tubes, spiral pipes, window profiles and shutters, electrical conduits, junction boxes and other technical products. Established in 1993 by Battista Faraotti, with the skills and commitment of the executive and engineering team Fainplast has become an advanced company in the field of plastics. Fainplast’s production plant is equipped with 23 modern compounding lines, which gives the company high production flexibility and an annual production capacity of around 120,000 MT. Combined with a vocation for

Seven decades of continuous casting Continuus-Properzi has been serving the cable industry for more than seven decades, dating back to when the founder of the company invented and patented the first aluminium rod line based on the method of continuous casting and direct rolling. This method has been confirmed over the years as a safe and efficient technology for producing non-ferrous rod (both copper and aluminium) – the basic raw material for manufacturing cables.

operation, and the spare parts office can create customised “annual” packages. Continuus-Properzi is now applying its experience to specialised tools such as the New Calibration System. The company describes this vision system for roll calibration as being “crucial for producing superior quality wire rod by ensuring process reliability and maintaining all process variables within acceptable parameters”. The company offers equipment that includes complete CCR lines, with furnace sets, casting equipment, rolling equipment and double spoolers. Copper rod can be produced from either cathodes or 100 per cent low-quality copper scrap to yield top quality copper rod.

The new E-Vision System

Continuus-Properzi’s furnaces and combustion division supplies furnaces for both aluminium and copper lines as well as fume-treatment systems. The wide range of furnaces can process and refine scrap generated during the downstream production process, and also scrap sourced from the market, with a positive impact on the environment. Other available product lines include Pro-Form continuous rotary extrusion machinery for a wide range of applications in copper and aluminium; Vert-Melt furnace for aluminium; and the Self Annealing Microrolling® (SAM) machine, which processes 8mm copper rod down to 1.8-2mm soft wire without an annealer, providing significant energy savings. After-sales service includes on-site technical assistance, remote technical consultancy and the supply of spare parts. The company is able to supply its equipment on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis so that the buyer is only minimally involved with the installation of the plant. Spare parts are available for all systems to ensure their durability and
