Aluminium hole stay system Although only small components, the aluminium hole stays from the LG series by Tsubaki Kabelschlepp improve the service life of the cable carrier and therefore the sustainability of the overall system. Optimum routing of even heavy cables and hoses in the neutral bending line is made possible, with flexible 1mm increments, and easy installation and servicing.
Screw connections make it simple to release the stays inside and outside, allowing easy access to the cable carrier and fast and simple installation of the cables and hoses. The stay arrangement can be selected to suit the application – fully stayed (VS) on each chain link or half stayed (HS) on every other chain link. In addition to the classic round version, other cross sections are possible, for example for flat cables. “With the aluminium hole stays, we offer an innovative solution that improves the service life and sustainability of our cable carrier systems and can be flexibly adapted to the customer’s requirements,” Mr Eul summarised. “Due to their robust design, the stays are also ideal for use in heavy-duty applications, such as in steelworks or other areas with a harsh environment.” signals, and communicating with the cloud, for added versatility and functionality • High-performing, safe operations: using Profinet/PROFIsafe I/O modules in applications with conformance class C and Netload class III or CIP Safety, and benefiting from TÜV Rheinland certification up to SIL 3, Cat 4 and Performance Level e (PLe) “As industrial automation increases, the challenge – and urgency – to ensure the safety of plant workers becomes more critical,” said Jeremy Friedmar, director of product management, data ingestion and firewalls. “LioN-Safety I/O modules streamline the transmission of essential safety and diagnostic information, from machine-to-machine and machine-to human, to protect workers as well as the machines themselves, and the overall plant environment.” Designed with a space-saving, compact metal housing, LioN-Safety I/O modules ensure durability and reliability even in the harsh environments of automotive manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, machine building, metals and logistics. The aluminium hole stays improve the service life of the cable carrier
“The less strain is placed on cables and hoses inside a cable carrier, the longer they will last,” explained Werner Eul, head of industry and product management at Tsubaki Kabelschlepp. “Our aluminium hole stays are the proverbial ‘kid glove’ in this context. The use of high-quality aluminium ensures particularly gentle guiding of the cables and hoses. This reduces the maintenance effort, minimises downtime and provides an important contribution to sustainability thanks to the extended service life of the components.” the application, taking into account the number, diameter and positions of all cables in the cross section. Using these The aluminium hole stays are manufactured specifically for
customised dividers offers the advantage of minimising the relative movements between cables/hoses and the stay to ensure optimum guiding. “Depending on the application, we offer our customers the hole stays as a divided version or as a single-part version,” said Mr Eul. “This enables ideal guiding even of larger hoses, for example in hydraulic applications. And with our 1mm increments up to 1,500mm, we can perfectly adapt the hole stays to the available space.”
Tsubaki Kabelschlepp www.kabelschlepp.de I/O modules for functional safety in automated operations
Belden, a supplier of network infra- structure and digitisation solutions, has expanded the Lumberg Automation LioN range with its new LioN-Safety I/O modules. Designed to support functional safety efforts in industrial operations, the modules streamline the transmission of safety- and non-safety-related data over existing networks. The new LioN-Safety I/O modules support the PROFIsafe and CIP Safety protocols, and give manufacturers a compact, ruggedised product designed to support the real-time data transmission required in highly automated operations. The safety solution from Belden enables the exchange of safety-relevant data and diagnostic information through existing network connections, saving time, resources and space. With the new modules, users benefit from: • Easy integration: workers and machines are protected by integrating modules into a PLC’s engineering tools with PROFIsafe or CIP Safety via standardised device description files that transmit safety data and diagnostics • Flexibility: connecting safety inputs/ outputs, non-safety I/Os and IO-Link
