White ink for PE cables in extrusion sector Markem-Imaje has launched the white ink MW2440, specifically tailored for difficult-to-code polyethylene (PE) cables, including low-smoke, zero-halogen materials (LSZH, HFFR, NHFR, LSOH).
• Enhanced durability, with resistance to bending, eliminating transfer when cables are stored and rolled, and maintaining print quality and readability • Environmental resistance – standing up against fluids (water and ethanol), UV and temperature variations, ensuring longevity and sustainability of the printed codes • High-contrast printing – ultra-contrasted white code with perfect dot definition, supporting barcode, data matrix and QR code prints with a grade of B or above for scanning and tracking • Safety, with a halogen-free formula (halogen content < MDL according to EN 14582:2016 method on liquid ink), contributing to reducing toxic fumes in the event of a fire, and aligning with environmental and safety regulations “We are thrilled to introduce the white MW2440 ink to the market,” said Pauline Mouillet, product marketing manager at Markem-Imaje. “This solution demonstrates our commitment to innovation and quality and reinforces our dedication to supporting the industry’s move towards safer, more environmentally friendly materials.” The white MW2440 ink is available now for all Markem-Imaje 9750+ coder models. The new ink enables manufacturers to print on difficult PE cables, helping to ensure high-quality, durable and environmentally safe markings. The MW2440 white MEK ink offers a number of advantages for extrusion manufacturers: • High adhesion – robust printing on a variety of PE substrates, without pre- or post-treatment
The new white ink is designed for difficult-to-code PE cables
Steel wire quality control with precision tensile testing jaws For steel product manufacturers, it is essential to maintain high quality standards in wire drawing – whether high- or low carbon steel. Sjogren Industries offers precision-engineered tensile testing jaws and inserts to optimise quality control processes and ensure consistent, reliable results. The tensile testing jaws are designed to deliver highly accurate measurements of tensile strength, elongation and material deformation. Consistent and precise data ensures steel wires meet exacting industry specifications and customer demands. The jaw patterns are specifically engineered to handle the unique challenges of high- and low-carbon steel wires, ensuring a secure grip and accurate force distribution during testing. Slippage and wear are reduced, with jaws built to withstand repeated testing of tough materials. The V-groove jaws are suitable for wires with varying diameters and cross-sectional profiles, offering a secure hold during testing, while flat jaws are better for uniform materials, delivering stable and consistent results. Inserts are available to ensure the components fit within the jaws, to provide specific grip profiles for different specimen shapes and sizes. The tensile testing jaws integrate with major brands, including Forney, United Calibration, Baldwin-Satec, Tinius Olsen and Instron. For specific testing challenges, Sjogren specialises in developing custom jaw and insert solutions tailored to users’ exact needs. Sjogren Industries https://sjogren.com
