Wire drawing die reconditioning/production Depending on the quantity of wire they produce and the care with which they are used, all drawing dies eventually wear out. Economy and performance with long-lasting basic dimensions can be achieved if dies are repolished regularly. Eder has developed two easy-to use complementary machines to accommodate a lack of expert skills in die tool maintenance while offering the necessary machining potential and capacity to continuously recondition the increasing number of dies awaiting repair. The machines offer a large die-size work range of 0.05 to 9mm diameter.
Eder Engineering, with nearly 80 years of experience in this field, recommends the regular checking of all dies to ensure that operation is continuous and to a high quality and production speed. This allows the drawing dies to remain in use for longer, with the original diameter, before they have to be reworked to the next larger bore area and returned to further use. A growing number of PCD dies waiting to be reconditioned can cause bottlenecks in die workshops, if there are not enough trained staff or equipment. For processing conical parts (inlet/ drawing cone/exit), ultrasonic systems are necessary, while reworking the draw cylinder requires high-speed wire calibration machines.
The machine is equipped with two independent workstations, oscillating polishing tables and work cycle limits, to simplify all operations. It is suitable for grinding and polishing the conical parts of the drawing die geometry, and requires only one operator. To calibrate and polish the drawing dies that have been pre-machined in the cone, the HGM-21 wire calibration machine offers the same throughput potential, to avoid causing an operational bottleneck. The HGM-21 system also has two individually usable, programmable workstations, and the high calibration speed required for PCD drawing dies. One operator is again ultrasonic USP-Twin

sufficient, and a wide working range from 0.05 to 10mm can be machined continuously. At the end of the scheduled processing time, the respective station switches off automatically, which frees up the personnel for other activities. Eder Engineering GmbH www.eder-eng.com

Michael Wöhrmann, director of business development at Leibinger, said, “This represents a significant advantage for our customers, as Leibinger printers can now be integrated into the SAP world much more quickly and efficiently. With this work as a foundation, essential customer printer-related business processes can be automated. All printer data and messages are directly available. For instance, automated order releases or
Industrial printer specialist Leibinger is offering SAP users greater convenience, security and efficiency when connecting printers to SAP Shop Floor. SAP digitalisation experts at 4IoT GmbH, the SAP Shop Floor Connect add-on has been expanded to include a Leibinger printer library, enabling all Leibinger In collaboration with the
The SAP add-on can be obtained from Leibinger with immediate effect, and the connection of Leibinger printers is free of charge. If additional guidance and support is required, Leibinger offers a special support package in collaboration with 4IoT GmbH, including integration, training and extended telephone support for SAP users. This offer is initially only valid for Europe due to the binding support times. 4IoT GmbH managing director Stefan Rössel commented on the integration project: “We are experts in automation, digitalisation and maximum security in the SAP environment and have extensively tested the interface. “It has never been so easy, secure and reliable for SAP users to seamlessly integrate industrial printers into their SAP Shop Floor world. The collaboration with the Leibinger team is extremely productive for everyone involved.” Paul Leibinger GmbH & Co KG www.leibinger-group.com
