Turnkey solutions Sampsistemi produces tailor-made turnkey solutions, with a product portfolio that covers almost all machines, lines and technologies used in the wire and cable industry. For drawing, the company produces multi-motor rod breakdown lines and multi-wire drawing lines for copper, aluminium and relative alloys, and a large variety of spoolers (dynamic, static, manual and automatic) and coilers. Rotating equipment includes single/double twist machines, and auxiliary units such as a range of static, dynamic, single or multiple station payoffs. 25d and 32d extruders feature screw diameters from 35 to 160mm, including payoffs ranging from 250 to 5,000mm, high-speed dual automatic take-ups, vertical and horizontal accumulators, capstans and caterpillars. In addition, Sampsistemi is equipped to manage complex machinery upgrades and complete retrofits, with a service and spare parts department, allowing the user to increase equipment reliability. Sampsistemi’s approach to Industry 4.0 is a scalable solution with different tools, developed with cloud technology, designed to also upgrade existing lines at customer plants. All of these tools are available for HMI, PC and mobile devices. Applications are designed for different user profiles, from the operator to the maintenance team, the production manager and the technology development team. The by the global health emergency and the reorganisation of the agenda of commitments have been seen by WTM as an opportunity to react to events and turn attention internally. Energy has been focused on improving current technologies and developing new and ambitious projects. The R&D team continued the improvement of machines for taping and insulating cables and conductors, and of heat treatment systems. In particular, a project for a vertical oven for the sintering of special cables, started in 2019, has been completed. This new equipment with mixed technology offers the advantage of overcoming the typical problems of a traditional oven, such as the stratification of the temperature and the “chimney effect”. The aim is to offer high quality in the finished product, with increasingly high performance and high-end cables. In the field of cable stranding, WTM has developed a new stranding machine designed for the production of highly flexible special cables. The machine accommodates seven DIN 400 reels of cables with a diameter of 0.5 to 1.5mm, unwound at high speed (up to 1,000 rpm) and in total back-twist, with screening of the conductor by means of two longitudinal in-line tapers, and a central stranding machine, collecting the final cable in DIN 630 reels. forced closures imposed
The company has also continued the strengthening of artificial vision and quality control systems. In this area, the engineers continue to update and improve the existing vision software as well as developing new programs for the analysis of production data. Research has also turned to the renewal of existing equipment, with the aim of extending machine life and enhancing performance. WTM can work with customers to create a plan for the
modernisation and transformation of mechanical taping machines. This can encompass not only cleaning, repainting, greasing and replacement of obsolete or damaged components, but also a complete change of the basic technology, with the replacement of mechanical taping heads with the latest generation of electronically controlled heads, and the renewal of the entire electrical box.
