Allied’s charity cheer
Each year Allied Wire and Cable designates one week in December as Charity Week, during which a percentage of all sales is donated to charity. This year, Allied’s 6 th Annual Charity Week ran from 19 th to 23 rd December, and raised a total of $15,818.78. Allied employees nominated their favorite charities, and customers voted online to decide which organization would receive the largest donation. CureSearch for Children’s Cancer was voted as the main beneficiary, and on 19 th January Allied presented
representatives fromCureSearch with a check for $13,318.78. This donation will not only help to fund important cancer research, but will also help CureSearch provide information and resources to the children and families affected by childhood cancer. A runner-up in the Charity Week vote was Autism Speaks, nominated by Rebecca Mertens, an employee in Allied’s Wisconsin branch. Mertens will be walking in the Walk Now for Autism Speaks event in Milwaukee on 28 th April and Allied is donating $1,000 to her walk team.
