Ducab has introduced its DuPan range, a new line of flexible panel wires suitable for switches, control, metering, relay and instrumentation panels of power switchgear.
Lightweight braiding
TE Connectivity has launched its Raychem Instalite lightweight braid system, said to offer weight savings of up to 50 percent over traditional copper braids. Made from a high performance, nickel- plated copper alloy, the RoHS-compliant pull-on braid is thought to offer better low frequency performance than plated fibers or microfilaments.

DuPan was launched by Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Mutawa, Ducab’s chief commercial officer, during an event at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. The range of flexible panel wires aremade in accordance with BS 6231 type CK. The cables are intended for use with AC voltage up to 600V or DC voltage up to 1,000V. K Krishna Kumar, MD of Zoomlux Lighting, attended the event to learn more about the new DuPan cable line. He commented: “It is exciting for the industry in the UAE to see Ducabcatering toour specificcablingneeds for the first time. With Ducab’s history for providing quality, industry-specific products, and its position as a regional market leader, this is a very strong step to encourage more panel and luminaire builders to buy UAE-made components.” In keeping with Ducab’s focus on flame-resistance and flame-retardant cables, the DuPan range is suitable for

Existing low-weight screening solutions provide reduced electrical screen performance at low frequencies, and less protection against lightning strike, while plated fibers and microfilament stainless steel braids are more expensive options. (EMI) protection is an ever-increasing requirement in the aerospace industry, especially as system functionality is increasing with higher signal speeds,” said Doug Jones, product manager, global aerospace, defense and “Electromagnetic interference
