and automated quality testing of wire and cable at wire South America. The company provides wire and cable manufacturers with the capability to automatically measure and control all aspects of their production process. By integrating laser diameter, ultrasonic wall thickness, laser length and speed, fault detection, eccentricity, SRL prediction, and other measurement and testing technologies into the production process, Beta LaserMike enables manufacturers to realize a number of performance and production benefits, such as reduced start-up time, decreased material use, improved quality documentation, and improved data management. Beta LaserMike will exhibit its latest LN3015 three-axis lump and neckdown detector. This advanced, compact system provides moreprecisedetectionof short-termfaults in the product diameter than two-axis systems. The LN3015 detector measures product diameters up to 15mm (0.59") and detects flaw height down to 0.02mm (0.0008") at line speeds up to 3,000m/min (9,842ft/min). The LN3015 is designed with a user-friendly operator interface, accepts a range of inputs, and can be easily connected to a host PC or PLC using RS-232, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus, and Profinet. As part of its recent solution offering, Beta LaserMike product specialists will be available at the booth to discuss the latest products such as the AccuScan 4012 single-axis diameter gauge, recently patented LayScan lay length measurement system, and DCM cable testing systems. The AccuScan 4012 single-axis diameter and ovality gauge is a compact, economical gauge that performs 1,200 scans/second and can measure product

diameters from 0.1 to 12mm (0.004 to 0.47") with accuracies to ±0.0005mm (±0.000020"). The AccuScan 4012 provides highly flexible communications with easy connection to a host PC or PLC using RS-232, DeviceNet, Ethernet IP, Profibus, and Profinet. Beta LaserMike offers an optional ultra-bright display and operator interface to easily configure and view measurement data. Beta LaserMike’s LayScan lay length measurement system enables manufacturers to simultaneously measure four pairs at the cabler to confirm the accuracy of twisted-pair cable construction during production. This non-contact system uses four individual pair lay sensors and Beta LaserMike’s LaserSpeed length and speed gauge to perform the high-speed lay length measurements. A data acquisition and control system effectively collects and processes each lay length in the cable and allows the full use of the customer’s off-line analysis tools such as trend charts, statistical analysis, or FFT analysis to readily observe, measure, and report systematic lay variations within each lay. Data can be easily stored on a local PC. The LayScan system performs measurements to within 0.025mm (0.001") overall accuracy on the same twisted pair. It can measure lay lengths up to 25.4mm (1") at throughput speeds up to 152.4m/min (500ft/min). Beta LaserMike's line of DCM cable testing systems provide an automated solution for testing LAN/data, telecom, RF/coaxial, and aerospace/defense cables. For example, the DCM Model SCS-350B is designed to quality test 4-pair category LAN/data cables (Cat 5/5e/6/6A) up to 600 MHz and the DCMModel ES-2G is designed to quality test 4-pair category LAN/data cables (5/6/7/7A) up to 2.2 GHz.
