Drum named product of the year

Southwire's SIMpull ® WireBarrel™ wire drum has been named “Circuit management system product of the year” by Electrical Construction and Maintenance magazine. A panel of 12 judges – including electrical professionals representing the design/engineering, contracting and facilities/maintenance industries – reviewed and voted on 160 entries in 47 categories. The SIMpull WireBarrel wire drum replaces the wire cart and multiple reels used during run pulls, thus removing the difficulties associated with maneuvering the cart and repeatedly handling heavy reels. The package includes NoLube ® SIMpull THHN ® wire, made available for the first time in circuit-sizedconductors, paralleled

in the barrel package, and is transported easily around the job site by the SIMpull WireBarrel hand truck. This is the fourth time in seven years that a Southwire SIMpull product has received an award. Southwire has won NECA Showstopper awards, tED's Overall Supplier award and several previous honors from EC&M, including the wire and cable product of the year in 2011, which went to the SIMpull Stack™ reel; top product in the tools and accessories category in 2010 for the SIMpull Head ® pre-installed pulling devices; and a product of the year award in 2008 for the SIMpull THHN cable – the industry's first commercial cable product that can be pulled through conduit without external pulling lubricant.
