New appointment at Scovill James I Pintohas joined theboardof Scovill Fasteners, a part of The Gores Group portfolio of companies. Following his announcement, Craig Stoudt, chief executive officer of Scovill Fasteners, said: “I’m pleased to have someone of Jim’s caliber and experience join our board, and am excited for our team’s opportunity to work with him.” Scovill is a manufacturer of closures and fasteners for a range of markets, including sporting goods, military, marine and medical. “I look forward to partnering with Craig and the Scovill leadership team,” said Pinto. “The business has made significant progress during the past year, and I look forward to assisting the team with continued top line growth and operational improvements.” Pinto has held various operational and supply chain roles throughout his career across a variety of aerospace and industrial businesses including Textron Lycoming, Greenlee Textron and Textron Fluid and Power as well as Tyco International’s electrical and metal products business unit.

AECOMwins Mauritania contract

AECOM has been awarded a $2.3 million contract by Société Mauritanienne d'Électricité (SOMELEC) for an electricity transmission and distribution (T&D) project. The project, financed by the Arab Fund for economic and social development, will include feasibility and engineering studies, tender documents and assistance to the owner for the construction of 90kV and 33kV transmission lines and associated substations. “Through this project, we will help the government of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania reach its objective of increasing the urban and rural electrification rates and the energy offer through the extension of the electrical network,” said Damien Tholomier, AECOM’s regional energy business line leader in Canada. “We have put together a team of highlyexperiencedT&Dprofessionals, and we are confident that their talent and expertise will provide the expected results for this project, which is important to the country's economy.”
