AECOM wins project contracts in Ethiopia

AECOM Technology has secured contracts worth a total value of $14.1m for two energy projects from the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCO). For the first contract, the company will review tender documents, conduct a design review of contractors’ deliverables and supervise the construction works of the rehabilitation, upgrading and rebuilding of several existing electrical substations. AECOM will also supply and install power accessories for this project, which covers the Addis Ababa region and the northern, northeastern, northwestern, eastern and southern parts of the country. Under the second contract, AECOM will be responsible for design review, supervision of construction works and project management on system improvements including the construction of 589 miles of 230kV overhead power lines and construction of several substation extensions. This project mainly aims to provide sustainable power for northern, eastern and southern regions of the country and to facilitate energy exports.
