Surface treatment facility The new Chemetall facility in Blackman Township, Michigan, USA is believed to be one of the biggest surface treatment facilities in the world.

It will produce almost a thousand chemical products for applications in surface treatment, metal fabrication, cleaning and sanitizing and will operate at the highest safety and environ- mental standards. Chemetall has invested $25 million in the 40-acre site. As a measure of its dedication to environmental sustainability, Chemetall has installed a semi- automated waste treatment system to reduce process wastewater by 90 percent. Automation advancements, including bulk material handling systems, mixing vessels, and packaging lines, have been incorporated into the facility to increase productivity as well as improve product yield and quality.
