New fiber route

Zayo Group has announced plans to build a new long-haul fiber network between Salt LakeCity, Utah, andDenver, Colorado. The 500-mile route will be primarily underground, and will replace Zayo’s existing route between the two cities that passes through Wyoming. “This flagship route will provide diversity that no other provider can offer,” Dennis Kyle, senior vice president of Mountain Region at Zayo, believes.

Colorado is ranked among the country’s fastest growing states, driven by technology, aerospace, healthcare and biotechnology services. Utah has a strong technology sector including cloud computing, big data, and software development, combined with growing aerospace and life sciences sectors.

The new route is scheduled for completion in 2021.
