90 years is a long time in business, and it is only right that Magnetic Analysis Corporation be applauded for reaching the prestigious milestone. The company has suppliesd inspection instruments and system for metal manufacturers since it was founded in 1928. Testing then usually meant destructive sampling procedures, but the company developed electromagnetic techniques to non-destructively test steel bars without modifying the product. In 1934, the company introduced the first successful tester to identify cracks in steel bars in a production mill. The full story can be found on page 9. Companies will also be turning attention to the IWCS Symposium and Exhibition next month, being staged in Rhode Island, from 14 th to 17 th October. This important and informative symposium is a leading venue for new technologies in cable and connectivity materials, products, processes and applications.
