Plastics expansion

Aurora Plastics of Ohio has extended the production capacity of its Lunenberg, Massachusetts facility, increasing the company’s ability to supply specialized compounds to thewireandcable industry. At a cost in excess of $2 million, the company has installed a new production line and new research facilities, as well as adding new personnel, including two new PhD scientists, three business development managers, aplant manager and production staff. “Aurora Plastics now offers a new line of wire and cable compounds that

include AuroraFlex PVC and TPEs, as well as AuroraGuard halogen-free, and low smoke compounds as well as flame retardant concentrates. “Our newest compounds feature temperature ratings up to 125ºC, limited oxygen index over 50%, with improved abrasion resistance and the ability to withstand severe cold temperatures,” explained Chris Coco, director of business development, flexible and specialty compounds at Aurora Plastics.
