Texas storage plans
Broad Reach also has other plans for expanding its storage portfolio in Texas. The company is repeating the dual greenfield and acquisition approach it previously adopted in California, Montana and other western markets where the company has 700MW of projects with signed interconnection agreements.
Broad Reach Power, a Houston-based independent power producer, has begun work on two 100MW/100MWh greenfield battery storage projects. The company will invest over $100 million in the recently acquired projects in Mason and Williamson counties in Texas. Expected to go online in 2021, the plants will operate alongside the company’s utility-scale battery storage plants near Houston and Odessa.
