PV park finds approval

The Dominican Republic’s national energy commission (CNE) has approved the construction of a 57.96MW photovoltaic solar park. The Montecristi Solar Fase II is the second stage of the Montecristi solar complex. With the new addition, the PV facility will reach a capacity of 115.92MW.

$180 million in investments. Governmental clearance comes through resolution CNE-CP-0004-2018, after the CNE’s board granted the local company Montecristi Solar the provisional concession for the studies of the construction, installation and commissioning of electrical generation works.

The first stage of the project began operations in July.
