Energinet has selected Hellenic Cables as one of three cable manufacturers to supply underground high voltage cable systems (145kV-170kV). In addition to supplying high voltage cables, the contract will include all the other elements needed for Denmark’s high voltage onshore network. The eight-year contract will demand an estimated 4,200km of cable. The orders will be distributed to the three manufacturers, either by direct assignment or by competitions between participating manufacturers per the framework agreement. Hellenic Cables also has an agreement with Semco Maritime A/S to supply inter-array cables for the Mayflower Wind project, a joint venture of Shell New Energies US LLC and EDPR Offshore North America LLC. Work on the project is expected to begin in 2025. The company will provide 300km of 66kV, XLPE insulated submarine inter-array cables and the order is expected to be completed by the end of 2023, with final installation expected around 2025.

The machinery manufacturer Windak is expanding with a new production facility in Estonia, bringing together two established facilities. “This opportunity came at the perfect time, as wewere looking for key opportunities that would allow us to expand our company, our services, and reach new customers,” said Staffan Edstrom, Windak Group’s chairman. “This new production facility will allow us to [increase exports], improve our production process and organize Open House events, which will help us to keep closer communication with our EMEA customers and suppliers.” The new facility is expected to be officially opened around July of this year. cable packaging
