This year’s 60 th IWCS symposium and exhibition is going entirely virtual. Themove, due to the coronavirus pandemic, will see the IWCS provide an interactive platform during October. Although it is still in the planning stages, the event could be held over a two-week period, with more than 100 papers already registered. “The response to our considerations of this 2020 ‘virtual’ platform has been really inspiring, with a variety of options, opportunities and benefits,” said Dave Kiddoo, CEO of IWCS. More details can be found on page 9. wire 2020 – the largest exhibition in our industry calendar – has also quickly been rearranged with new dates of 7 to 11 December at the Fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. Existing contracts with organisers Messe Düsseldorf remain valid for the new dates, and visitors’ tickets already purchased for the original dates are also valid. “It is very important for us to inform you of this new date as soon as possible in order to ensure planning security for the entire industry and its partners,” said Wolfram Diener, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. “Our customers and partners can trust us to act calmly and responsibly even in difficult situations.” Full story on page 29.
