Flexential is expanding its FlexAnywhere service by providing customers with access to Seaborn Network’s Seabras-1 subsea cable system. Through this new partnership with Seaborn, FlexAnywhere can offer a route on Seabras-1, said to give Flexential customers the lowest latency available.

Seabras-1 stretches from New Jersey to São Paulo, Brazil carrying 72Tbps of capacity.

“With the Latin American subsea cable we are delivering on our promise of expansion, by offering the fastest and most reliable wholesale route from the US to Brazil,” said Chris Downie, chief executive officer, Flexential. “Just like our New Cross Pacific cables to Asia, and the Hawaiki submarine cable to Australia and New Zealand, the Seabras-1 to South America is built for performance [and] enables us to provide our customers with... the latest generation of high capacity, ultra-low latency service.” Data moving between the US and Brazil is growing by 30 percent a year. In response, Seabras-1 aims to meet this need while, at the same time, filling the void of legacy US- Brazil network systems that are nearing their end-of-life.
